Annjoins HDFFA with a background in community organizing in the food systems space and a passion for food equity and access issues – including a strong belief that all people should have access to affordable, locally produced, culturally significant foods. Over the years she has run school-based farm programs, led garden science & nutrition curriculum development teams, managed community gardens aimed at providing fresh food access for unhoused community members, and worked on countless small and large scale farms and vineyards in the United States and New Zealand.
Most recently Ann has been managing the Bend Farmers Market, a non-profit, true farmer’s-farmers market dedicated to supporting Central Oregon’s food, farm and ranch network, providing food access and equity programs, and nurturing a thriving market where community members can gather, learn and shop in ways that support the local food system.
