Investing in Resilience
You may have seen the headlines: In March 2026 the U.S. Department of Agriculture terminated nearly $300 million in grant funding across the country. For us at HDFFA, this is more than a news story, it’s a direct hit. We had been awarded $300,000 in critical grant funding to be distributed over three years to strengthen our local food system. And overnight, it disappeared.
We’re asking our community to come together to help seed HDFFA’s Agricultural Opportunity Fund—restoring the $100,000 we lost in the first year of this grant and ensuring this work continues without interruption.
Your support is more than a donation. It’s an investment in the people who grow our food, and in a food system that reflects the strength of this community. When farmers are supported and their businesses are stable and able to grow, more of our neighbors are nourished.
Your support is an investment in resilience—ensuring a thriving agricultural community, no matter what happens at the federal level.
Everyone deserves good food.
Investments from our community play a critical role in sustaining HDFFA’s work. Private donations strengthen our organization from the ground up, ensuring that all Central Oregonians have reliable access to fresh, healthy food and that local farmers, ranchers, and food producers maintain thriving businesses.
High Desert Food & Farm Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
