RESILIENT FARMS AND RANCHES
REDMOND TO PRINEVILLE
Ranches, Markets, and High Desert Flavor
Ease into the day in Redmond, then head out into the high desert with stops at Schoolhouse Produce or The Ranch Market to pick up locally grown produce and regionally raised beef, pork, and lamb while getting a feel for the area’s agricultural roots.
From there, drive toward Terrebonne, where the landscape opens wide and ranch life takes center stage. If you’re visiting in the fall, swing by DD Ranch for its seasonal pumpkin patch and classic farm experience. Just down the road, Crescent Moon Ranch is open year-round and offers the chance to feed alpacas and browse a farm store filled with alpaca wool goods and gifts.
Continue on to Prineville and, if you’re there on a Saturday, wander the CROP Farmers Market, where farmers, makers, and food vendors gather in a lively community setting. While you’re in the area, look for Dark Sky events at Wine Down Ranch, an unforgettable way to experience Central Oregon’s night skies. The ranch also offers accommodations if you’d like to stay out under the stars.
Loop back toward Redmond for a change of pace. Pop into Arome, a thoughtfully curated shop filled with olive oils, spices, teas, and kitchen goods, perfect for sampling and taking something home. When you’re ready for a break, Feast Food Company is a great spot for a delicious, regionally inspired meal.
Later, head to Brasada Ranch, where Wild Rye serves a refined take on local ingredients in a high desert setting.
For the evening, settle in at SCP Redmond Hotel and enjoy dinner at Terra Kitchen, or stay at Brasada Ranch for a more immersive retreat. Either way, it’s a fitting close to a day spent exploring Central Oregon’s towns and ranchlands.
