TUMALO TO SISTERS
Farm stands, U-Picks, and Small-Town Eats
Start your morning in picturesque Tumalo with coffee from Tumalo Coffeehouse before settling into an easy countryside loop. Pick up seasonal produce at Tumalo Farmstand, then head to Tumalo Lavender, where U-pick fields, a sweet little farm store, and lavender-inspired foods and gifts offer a fragrant, hands-on experience.
Continue into the countryside with a visit to Well Rooted Produce, one of the region’s few U-pick farms, where you can wander the fields and harvest fresh, seasonal produce straight from the source. For a memorable midday stop, consider an alpaca picnic with Alpaca Experiences, or make your way toward Sisters with tastings at Ablis and Crater Lake Spirits or a glass of mead at Lazy Z Ranch along the way.
Once in Sisters, settle in for lunch at The Barn, a lively food truck lot with everything from wood-fired pizza and barbecue to plant-based bowls. For something more classic, Sisters Meat & Smokehouse—just down the road—is known for standout sandwiches, while Luckey’s Woodsman offers adventurous fare inspired by seasonal, local, and foraged ingredients.
Spend the afternoon exploring downtown Sisters and pick up local produce at The Stand, then enjoy a stop at Suttle Tea or Sisters Coffee. If you’re visiting on a Sunday between June and October, don’t miss the Sisters Farmers Market, filled with local food, handmade goods, and live music. Take time to wander out to Rainshadow Organics, and if timing allows, enjoy a farm-to-table dinner in the fields or on the porch.
To round out the day, head toward Black Butte Ranch and consider staying the night at this iconic Central Oregon retreat, where miles of trails and towering pines create the perfect setting to unwind.
