Kristine has always had a love and curiosity for growing food, starting with her family’s garden. As a kid, she was responsible for feeding the chickens and credits the ornery rooster for teaching her to run fast and climb trees. Believing food has a way of bringing people together, she has been a longtime advocate for food network agencies. She has served as a board member and volunteer for a nonprofit food bank and the North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity. A writer and editor, Kristine has more than 30 years of work experience working for newspapers, a university and a nonprofit economic development agency. She loves cooking for her family and friends, purchasing local food at farmers’ markets, exploring hiking trails with her dog, Kali, kayaking, swimming, running, biking, reading and writing. She has two grown children.
