Cooking Counts

Cooking Counts
The Cooking Counts curriculum was designed and published by HDFFA in 2020, in partnership with Central Oregon chefs. This 86-page cookbook and nutrition guide is perfect as a supplement to Fresh Harvest Kits, cooking classes, consultations with dietitians, and more!

What’s in the curriculum?
- 40+ recipes for quick and nutritious meals
- Nutrition education materials
- Tips on food storage
Spicing it up
Savory Spice Shop located in the Old Mill District in Bend offers spices, herbs and blends from around the world to add flavor any dish. They are long time partners with HDFFA and generously donated herbs and spices the first year of the program to give the bags the little extra kick they need.
How it works
HDFFA coordinates with farmers, hunger relief agencies and volunteers to prepare the Fresh Harvest Kits with participating pantries. When using Fresh Harvest Kits, clients will get fresh ideas for creating healthy meals!
