Creating Bee Habitat on Small Farms: Seminar with OSU

April 5, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free – $5

Join us with Andony Melathopoulos, Assistant Professor of Pollinator Health at OSU Extension, in this seminar to learn about cultivating healthy bee habitats on your property. This event will be held via zoom on April 5 from 2–3:30 PM.

Central Oregon is home to a remarkable diversity of bees. This includes not only managed honey bees, alfalfa leafcutting bees, and orchard mason bees but hundreds of wild species. In this seminar you will learn about the habitat requirements of these bees and how to create an ongoing bee plant list inventory for your property.

Andony Melathopoulos is an Associate Professor in Pollinator Health Extension in the Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University, which was the first such position in the US. He also sits on the Steering Committee of the Oregon Bee Project, which coordinates pollinator health work across state agencies, leads the Oregon Bee Atlas and hosts a weekly podcast called PolliNation.

This event is free for HDFFA Partners, and $5 for non-Partners.
